I stopped by Confederation Park today after work and snapped some pictures of the ice sculptures. Amazing work as usual, although the lighting was far from perfect. Checkout the flickr photo set for a few more images. http://www.flickr.com/photos/keverz/sets/72157623395049962/

Rock star or flower power?, originally uploaded by kevinbhookun.

We didn’t have much time the last couple of months and missed out on the monthly studio sessions for Alisa. Today We decided to catch up and grab some cool images of Alisa at 16 months.

Showcase – Pam & Al’s wedding – The bride getting ready.

I had the opportunity to work with Pam & Al for both their engagement and wedding photography. And since I am in writing mode today, I figured i’d do the post on this previous wedding assignment as well.
Captured below are small moments hidden between the rush and stress of a bride getting ready for her big day. This part aims to represent what goes on behind the scenes, so if you are doing a pre-wedding shoot, you have to do two things: 1) make yourself invisible and 2) be ...

Outtakes – Engagement sessions

How much can you do with one flash head?
Lots. Back in june, I scheduled an engagement shoot with my clients, at the location where the wedding would later take place. Hardly betting on the fact that daylight would be the same almost 5 months later, I still wanted to get a feel for the d-day location, as well as some of the key pre-wedding moments.
The rig – Easy does it.
For this shoot, I decided to tackle the big ol’ sunshine with nothing but a SB 800 and a shoot ...

The sharpness of a good lens!

Alisa, originally uploaded by kevinbhookun.

My daughter turned 1 year old last week. things go so fast! I can’t believe it’s already been 1 year, and soon she’ll be a toddler and my little baby girl will be all grown up before I realize what happened.
I’ll be putting together a mosaic poster of the Alisa’s entire first year soon! stay tuned

Shot taken with Nikon 24-85mm f/2.8-4. For the price, this lens is incredibly sharp, comparable to others that cost twice as much!
