Lomography

Birds on a wire, [1 of 11]originally uploaded by keverz – More on Flickr.

I’ve had a Lomo Kompakt for quite a while now. It is an original soviet construction, given to me by my mother-in-law who in fact, worked at Lomo a long time ago, in St Petersburg, Russia. I never had a chance to test it out until about a year ago, when I just dropped a roll of film in it and went out to grab some random images.

Caught between the near perfectness of the exposure, the absolute erratic un-sharpness of the image, I found myself intrigued by this little black box that I heard so much about.

This was the trial phase for a camera and I intend to put it to full use.
Although it is quite expensive to get a roll of film processed these days, the results are absolutely rich and stunning.

I realize that these images are nothing to be proud of, but they gave me a glimpse of what could be achieved with a Lomo. Stay tuned for more!
